VALVES

CCM can deal with valve removal if required, and also deal with fitments of new valve stem oil seals, and lapping of valves if required. Extra works are charged at the standard workshop rate.

WELDING

For aluminium heads that are badly pitted, we can offer an alloy weld to fill any voids prior to the head skimming process.

TRADE WELCOME

Trade accounts are available to all local garages and workshops.

What Is Head Skimming?

Cylinder head skimming is a way for mechanics to alter the surface of a cylinder head when it has become warped or bowed. The cylinder head is placed on a moving table and a high-speed spinning fly cutter glides across the top. This process accurately removes a super thin layer (about a thousand of an inch) to leave your cylinder head smooth with a completely flat surface.
